Q: What camera do you use?
A: I shoot primarily with a Contax 645, Planar Zeiss 80mm lens. This is a medium format film camera that produces beautiful, crisp images. I shoot in digital or black & white film for night time or very low light.
Q: Why do you shoot with film?
A: A couple of reasons:
1) The color and depth is amazing and hard to replicate exactly in digital. I love the entire process of shooting and the grain, small imperfections, and dreaminess that I get from film.
2) Using film lets me be fully present during shoots. I'm not continually looking at the back of my camera checking pictures, I get to just take them. I also take the time to make sure all settings are correct instead of shooting a million pictures and hoping one turns out ok. I end up keeping about 90% of my film shots, as opposed to 10% of my digital ones.
Q: If you're shooting with film, will I still be able to get digital files?
A: Yes, definitely. All your images will be delivered via download from an online gallery in high resolution.
Q: Can I get prints if I want them also?
A: Yes! I think the best part about film is getting to keep physical photographs. Contact me regarding print pricing.
Q: How soon will I get my photos?
A: You'll get your photos in less than 2 weeks for portraits, and 4-6 weeks for weddings.
